Voting information
In
order to submit votes for your school, you must register to participate in SSYRA each school
year. Registration for the 2011-2012 school year will begin in August 2011.
Voting Notes: This reading motivation program was designed to entice students to read high interest, contemporary literature for personal enjoyment. The long term goal of the program is to nurture lifelong readers who will continue to read for information needs and personal pleasure; therefore, students do not have to complete an assignment or a test in order to prove that they have read the book.
Also please be reminded that students can either read or hear a book read in order to be eligible to vote. In summary, student voting statistics illustrate the consistent library media support of school reading programs and the statewide reading initiative, Just Read, Florida! These statistics also provide quantitative proof of the excellent reading promotion activities of our library media programs!
Voting Dates Set
Mark your calendars now--submission of votes will take place March 19-April 27th, 2012. Note that this allows one additional week to submit votes. (You may have students vote at the school level whenever you wish). The personal responsible for SSYRA at the school (usually the school librarian) must submit the votes online during the 4 week voting period. The person submitting the votes must be the same person who registered the school to participate.
Voting Guidelines
Please
read these guidelines carefully before beginning the voting process.
